This year celebrates the 150th anniversary of the founding of the city of Breckenridge, Colorado, and also the 25th anniversary since they allowed snowboarding on the slopes of a ski resort. The station was one of the first to embrace this new way ‘revolutionary’ and home to one of the first competitions worldwide.

In 1986 Breckenridge hosted the The World Snowboarding Championships, also called simply “The World’s”. In that event confirmed its commitment to snowboarding. For this year and expected the second edition of the Winter Dew Tour, which will be held from 17 to 20 December.
