Services and Mission

Description: Whether you're looking for a location, planning a scout, crewing up for a commercial or shopping for incentives, the staff at the Minnesota Film and TV Board has the resources and experience to help get it done. We've been in business as a film commission since 1981, when we were established as a non-profit professional service organization. Our mission is to build and promote the state's moving image industry as a force for economic growth. And we believe the best way to accomplish that is one successful service request at a time. We are one of the only film commissions in the U.S. that functions as a public/private partnership, meaning that our state appropriation must be matched by private contributions. A volunteer board of directors comprised of professionals from all segments of the Minnesota production industry supports our efforts and oversees our work, setting policy and approving our annual budget. The Minnesota Film and TV Board encourages film and television production students to apply for an internship in our office. To be eligible, students must have a current college ID and be enrolled in one of the state's film and television or media arts programs. We are especially interested in students who can commit 6 to eight hours a week and who are ready for the diverse challenges of working in a busy production office. The three most important things in real estate are location, location, and location. Film production is no different. As a former member of the Minnesota Film and Television Board I understand the importance of film and video production in the City of Minneapolis.
