Description: For individuals who have ever felt a desire to help kids triumph over life-threatening medical conditions, volunteering for the Make-A-Wish Foundation is an opportunity to make a difference. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers throughout Minnesota make magic happen for children by volunteering in areas such as wish granting, events, speaking, administrative support and internships. These individuals offer their time and skills to help further the Foundation's mission by working in partnership with staff and other volunteers. In return, volunteers experience the joy of making a difference in the lives of children. A child facing a life-threatening or critical illness needs many things. A loving family. Excellent medical services. An extended community of supportive, loyal friends, teachers, and people who care. They also need times of hope and laughter and fun. Time to be who they are...children. They are children who want to think about something other than their illness, who want to imagine a future with better days and dreams that come true. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota was established in 1982 and has since granted over 3,000 wishes, each one combining a bit of magic, a lot of love, and many wonderful memories. In 2007, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota is proud to have celebrated its 25th Birthday!
