A Lake Superior Circle Tour Travel.

Description: Superior Trails began life as my personal travel and recreation pages on Personality Pathways.com, a site I created several years ago. As the pages multiplied, it eventually occurred to me this growing collection can function as a guidebook of sorts for others who are interested in traveling down similar recreational and travel pathways. And it gives me an opportunity to recycle the information in the hundreds (perhaps thousands!) of brochures, maps, books, pamphlets, and other reference documents that mysteriously get attached to me during our travels! As this is a work-in-progress, realize that only a fraction of the resource information on these topics has made it into these pages. So don't hesitate to send an e-mail on questions . . . or even a contribution to our resources. The regular pages of our website offer photos and more extended descriptions of the various attractions we've discovered in our numerous travels around Big Gitchee Gumme. While we know people appreciate the detail, it tends to obscure how much time it might take to complete a reasonable trip around the lake. Thus the travel planner was born. It is a more condensced version of the regular website pages and organized so that one page makes a reasonable day's journey with time included for exploring attractions along the way. There are twelve pages in all, suggesting that 12 days of travel would be about right to cover the entire circle. Most people, however, will not take such a leisurely and concentrated tour and I suspect will be able to find ways to cut that in half to six days (See our suggestions for shorter trips below the directory.) We're glad you dropped in. We'd like to share with you some travel notes and pictures for exploring, hiking, canoe tripping, waterfall discovery and camping along Lake Superior's Scenic Roads & Byways. We cover cities, villages, and scenic and recreational attractions along Minnesota's North Shore, Ontario's North and East Shore, and the South Lake Superior Shore of the Michigan Upper Peninsula, and Wisconsin. We'll highlight some of the places we've found worthwhile to visit and explore. We'll also recommend some places to stay whether that be comfortable lodging, a full service campground, or roughing it.
