Description: Founded in 1972, Minnesota Women Lawyers is an association of more than 1,200 lawyers, judges, law students and other professionals. MWL’s goals are to support the professional and leadership development of women lawyers, to advocate on behalf of women lawyers within the legal profession, and to support social action initiatives to end discrimination in the justice system and promote equality of women in society. Minnesota Women Lawyers’ programs, projects, and activities are guided by our organizational values: Once again, MWL is offering year-long partnerships to the legal community. By signing on as a 2010 Partner, legal employers demonstrate their commitment to MWL’s mission, streamline their support with one annual contribution, and enjoy the benefits all year long. MWL extends a special thanks to the 2009 Partners who signed on early to a 2010 Partnership (HERE). We invite all legal employers to join with our "early sign-on" 2010 Partners in advancing the success of women in the legal profession and striving for a just society. In the effort to capitalize on the breadth of experience and knowledge among top leaders in the legal profession, Minnesota Women Lawyers has created the MWL President’s Leadership Circle. The 2009-2010 fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) will serves as its inaugural year. The MWL President’s Leadership Circle will be comprised of leaders from different aspects of the profession (managing partners, general counsels, bar association leaders, etc.) who share our common goal of advancing women in the legal profession. Members will gather twice annually in an informal setting to collaborate with MWL in an effort to promote its mission and impact the profession. Minnesota Women Lawyers is pleased to welcome Megan J. Hertzler as its 2009-2010 President. Since joining MWL in 1994 as a law student, Megan has served in a variety of leadership roles with the association, leading up to her current position as President. Megan is Assistant General Counsel with Xcel Energy in downtown Minneapolis.
