Description: The Minnesota Society for Interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy (MISFITS) is a non-profit organization with a mission of increasing literacy, community service, and community building. MISFITS also serves as a forum and foundation for celebrating diversity and works to promote the appreciation of, and interest in, Science Fiction and Fantasy. MISFITS works with people of all ages, ethnic identities, and socio-economic backgrounds to enhance literacy; reaching out to youth and adults in need of reading, writing and computing skills. The ability to express one's thoughts and feelings in different mediums is a skill that should be nurtured and practiced, no matter what the age. MISFITS realizes that for our children, literacy is the key to a happy, successful future. In an effort to help insure that MISFITS continues to meet the criteria established by the State of Minnesota for a non profit, the MISFITS directors have established some minimum club expectations. Please be aware that these expectations can and will change based upon the needs of the organization and the requirements of the State of Minnesota. The Team Trivia Challenge is a game show-style trivia competition for teams, and a fun-filled event for both competitors and spectators alike. Teams of up to four members each test their science fiction and fantasy knowledge on a variety of topics ranging from movies - to comics to television to science and more. Eight teams (the previous year's defending champions and seven challenging teams) compete for bragging rights and (modestly budgeted) fabulous prizes!
