Description: Project Turnabout was founded as a nonprofit organization in the early 1970s to help people with alcohol and drug use problems. In 1991 Project Turnabout developed the Vanguard program for compulsive gambling. Over the years we have continued to grow and evolve, never losing site of our mission -- to encourage and support healing through programs and services that are both effective and affordable. In every service our quality is driven by an experienced and caring team committed to their responsibility to help and be of service to our patients/clients. Our complete continuum of programs includes outpatient and residential treatment options, separate programs for men and women, extended care, halfway/transitional living, family services, and educational and prevention programs. All are designed to help people find hope, begin recovery, and develop and implement a healthy plan for life. We understand that environment plays an important role in the recovery process. Our beautiful campus in Granite Falls offers separate care units, a meditation center, and recreation facilities in a quiet, safe location in southwestern Minnesota. Outdoor recreation and walking trails through the natural prairie setting augment the active program components with time for relaxation and reflection. The facilities that house our other services carry over the same attention to detail. All Project Turnabout / Vanguard programs use a holistic, abstinence based model of care that incorporates education, specific therapy, peer relationships and general health with the supportive network of 12-step recovery groups. Individualized care plans allow patients/clients to work on both general issues affecting everyone and specific issues that meet their individual needs. Licensed professionals facilitate all programming which includes individual and group therapy, lectures and videos, recreation, nutritional planning and more. Staff includes psychologists, licensed counselors and nurses, as well as a chaplain and a physical fitness trainer. Project Turnabout's beautiful new 90 bed campus is nestled in the spectacular Minnesota River Valley in the town of Granite Falls in southwestern Minnesota, only a two-hour drive from the Minneapolis or Sioux Falls, South Dakota airports. Granite Falls is rich in the history and culture of Minnesota. Additional outpatient, halfway house and continuing care programs are also located in Marshall, Redwood Falls and Willmar, Minnesota. Admission starts with a call to our admission’s office at 1-800-862-1453. Our staff will conduct a preliminary interview to gather necessary medical information and to discuss funding. We will work with you to carefully review all payment options that may be available to insure that you are able to participate. Some payment options may include private pay, insurance, state coverage or a combination. We are currently a licensed provider for the State of Minnesota, a Preferred Provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota, and an Essential Community Provider. We also work to provide partial scholarships to assist people with funding and have contracts with national HMOs and other insurance companies. Each year, hundreds of Project Turnabout patients and families receive care and renewed hope thanks to the generosity of strangers. Addiction is a crippling disease emotionally and often financially. To provide hope to as many as possible, we rely on the help of our donors and volunteers. We are a nonprofit organization and take seriously our role in keeping costs down to make care readily available to as many people as possible. Increasingly we see a large group of employed individuals who do not make enough to be able to purchase insurance but earn too much to qualify for public aid (For example a couple with an annual income over $12,000). We rely on donations to provide the funds to care for these individuals. If you care about helping people, want to work in an environment of excellence and teamwork, then you might be a fit for Project Turnabout. Our leadership understands that our staff is a vital part of the mission. While patient care always comes first, we are attuned to creating a work environment that emphasizes the principles we promote; honesty, openness and willingness are embedded in our philosophy. Mutual respect is important to our effectiveness. As leaders/managers we believe fear and intimidation are wasted energy and have no place in a caring community. That requires that we are all “self starters” committed to the idea of doing our very best to help those we serve.
